20161103 THS Holidy Preview Party

Knox Museum presents a special benefit preview party at Montpelier - the big white house at the turn to Saint George in Thomaston - on Friday, December 1, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. This is a chance to meet the decorators, enjoy holiday spirits and appetizers, listen to some wonderful music, support Knox Museum, and welcome the holiday season in style. Tickets to the special preview party are $25 per person, and can be purchased online at http://www.knoxmuseum.org/events/event/holiday-preview-party/ or at the door.

Guests will be free to enjoy festive libations and paired bites as they stroll from room to room at their own pace, enjoying the holiday décor provided by Anne Perkins, Dawn Swinton, Lysbeth Andrews, Bruce Habel, Barbara McNulty, Patty McDonald, Knox Museum’s Landscape Committee, Virginia Hodge, Mary Kay Felton, the Lady Knox Chapter of the DAR, Weskeag Farms, and The Green Thumb, among others. This year’s special silver bells theme will adorn each of 9 rooms, as well as Anne Perkins’ always elaborate staircase décor. Holiday trees will grace each room, strikingly decorated with all fashion of silver and silver bells.

Bel Isle Trio will perform some jazzy renditions of holiday favorites in the Oval Room, so be sure and wear your dancing shoes. There will also be a very special treat in store for Friday night guests: seeing the General’s and Lucy Knox’s bedroom by candlelight.

Downstairs The Carriage Shop, the gift shop at Montpelier, will be open for browsing and discovering many unusual and well-priced holiday items for those special someones on your holiday shopping list. So come prepared to eat, drink, dance, and wander through the mansion at your pleasure, with old and new friends.

Admission to the special holiday benefit preview party on Friday, December 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm is $25 in at http://www.knoxmuseum.org/events/event/holiday-preview-party/ or at the door.
