Watts Hall Community Players is hoping to present a reading of Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales and needs “readers” of all ages. We’re looking for a large multi-age group of experienced and totally inexperienced enthusiasts. The text will be divided into small chunks – sometimes a paragraph, but more likely a sentence, a phrase and maybe even just a word – and assigned to individuals according to their preferences. Everything will be read so there will be no learning lines, no blocking, no acting skills needed and probably no more than 2 short rehearsals. Young non-readers are welcome too– we’ll find the best way for each to participate.
There will be only one performance. The reading itself should last only about half an hour but we are hoping to follow it with some hot chocolate and caroling.
This could be the perfect opportunity for those who have ever thought they might like to be on stage but doubted their ability, the time commitment or their courage.
