The Town of Thomaston is seeking applications for the position of EMS Chief. The successful candidate shall be responsible for efficient performance of required duties in conformance with the state laws, rules, regulations and policies within the Town as outlined in the job description of EMS Chief, up to and including responding to said ambulance calls as noted in the physical ability for this position. Also required to be an active member of the Thomaston Ambulance Service. This is a stipend position of $10,000 annually with irregular hours.

Thomaston Ambulance Service currently has positions open for per-diem staff, as well as positions for volunteer staff.
The Thomaston Ambulance Service covers approximately 11 square miles and has a population of approximately 3500 year round residents. We answer approximately 500 calls annually with 70% of those occurring between the hours of 6AM and 6PM. Our per-diem hours are 6AM to 6PM 7 days a week. We utilize an in house monthly sign up schedule. All per-diem personnel sign up 1 month in advance for their shifts. Our Pay rates are as follows.
EMR/Driver: $11.08 per hour
EMT: $13.54 per hour
AEMT: $14.79 per hour
Paramedic: $16.03 per hour
We operate 1 2017 Ford AEV Type III Ambulance that includes a state of the art Stryker Load System , Zoll X-Series cardiac monitor, and a patient care module built with safety of both the patient and the provider in mind.
We are always looking for volunteers that live within (or close proximity to) our community.
No experience necessary. We will train you!! If you are looking for great way to give back to your community, or have an interest in healthcare, then this is a great way to start. Our members receive in house and distance training at no cost to them. We offer a tuition reimbursement agreement for licensure classes that consists of the ambulance service paying for a licensure class up front, and upon completion of the program, the member provides 1 night a week of EMS coverage for a term of 2 years. After the 2 years is up, the member’s tuition obligation is complete. Our volunteer pay is as follows.
All calls from 6PM-6AM are volunteer calls. All volunteers get an automatic 2 hours pay when called for service. The pay rate for volunteers is the same as per-diem. There is also a stipend for volunteers that consist of $24.00 just for being on call for a 12 hour shift.

The Thomaston Police Department, serving a growing community in the Mid-Coast region, is seeking candidates for three immediate Reserve Officer positions.
All of these positions would potentially involve working part-time in a patrol officer role. Thomaston Police Department is looking for two of these positions to be available to work a full-time schedule from January 2019 to Mid-June 2019.
Certification as a reserve or fully certified officer in Maine, or the ability to transfer an out of state certification is a minimum requirement. The pay rate for these positions is $16.11 per hour for part-time certified officers and $19.67 for full-time certified academy graduates. Applicants may expect an interview process, physical fitness and medical test, a background investigation and polygraph and psychological examinations.
