The Department has created red tide closure # 164-C to close the waters in Lobster Management Zones C and D to harvest of carnivorous snails, due to an increase in PSP levels nearshore and a lack of monitoring on offshore islands. Text of rule follows (Struck text is being removed, and underlined text is being added):

TITLE & TEXT OF RULE: DMR Chapter 96.10 Area No. 164-C, Offshore Maine Islands (Lobster Management Zones C and D from Bristol to Surry)

Effective immediately, because of paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), it shall be unlawful to take or possess any carnivorous snails between the eastern line of Lobster Management Zone C and the western line of Lobster Management Zone D.
