Have you ever wondered about the fabulous old stone walls and impoundments in Maine – what are their origins? Kevin Curtin, Ph.D. has done extensive research on stone walls found all over New England. On Tuesday, August 14th, he will talk about the famous impoundment structures in Maine as well as the people who built these walls.
A native of California, Kevin Curtin has been living in Mid Coast Maine for 23 years. He taught at the University of Maine Augusta for 17 years. From April to June he builds New England field stone walls, as he has for 8 years. He lives in Tenants Harbor with his family.
This free program, presented by the Thomaston Historical Society, will take place at Watts Hall (174 Main Street, Thomaston) with refreshments at 7:00pm and the talk at 7:30.
